What is PubMedMaker
PubMedMaker is bibliography software, which is designed for anyone who wishes to manage medical literature data with a FileMaker Pro database. You perform a search of the literature in PubMed, NLM gateway or TOXNET on the Internet and save the search results as a text file. PubMedMaker converts this text file into a FileMaker Pro database simply by dragging & dropping. By using FileMaker Pro's function, you can search, select, sort, and print literature references. Literature list can be formatted and exported in simple text, rich text (Reference list for your paper) or HTML (Reference Web Publishing) to conform to the style you desire.The FileMaker Pro database made by PubMedMaker has the function of direct link to on-line journals and automatic management of PDF files of literature which enable you to decrease your burden to keep track of them.
Outline of PubMedMaker
1) Literature search and download--You can perform a search of the scientific literature in PubMed, NLM gateway or TOXNET on the Internet and save the search results as a text file in the ﾒMEDLINE ﾓ, ﾒMEDLARS ﾓ or ﾒTagged ﾓ format.
2) Making a FileMaker Pro database--Drag and drop this text file onto the PubMedMaker icon. FileMaker Pro database is generated in the PubMedMaker folder.
3) Choose literature for citation and making a Reference database--Choose the literature which you will cite in your paper and click the "Make RefList" button. A FileMaker Pro database named "Reference" appears in the PubMedMaker folder.
4) Output of Reference list--You can set up the style of Reference list in the Reference database to conform to the style of scientific journals. You can out put Reference list files in the PubMedMaker folder in plain text, rich text (RTF), HTML List or Web Reference format. Web reference, linking PubMed, is named from that of source database + ﾒ.htm ﾓ.

HSP binary files instead of VB scripts--Scripts for Windows version of PubMedMaker are mostly rewritten with Hot Soup Processor 2.6 (HSP) by onion software. Serious mistaken alerts by Norton AntiVirus* have disappeared in this version.
* Norton AntiVirus shows a warning against every VB scripts handling FileSystemObject.

4. Registration of PubMedMaker
1. Universal registration code for free
You can freely use PubMedMaker 7 (Mac OS X, Win 2000/XP), PubMedMaker X (Mac OS X) or PubMedMaker (Mac OS 9, Windows) as is with the universal registration code shown in Read me file. Double-click PubMedMaker, click Registration tab panel, enter User name, Registration code and click ﾒRegister ﾓ. You cannot modify the templates with the universal code.2. Formal registration
If you want to modify the templates of PubMedMaker 7, PubMedMaker X or PubMedMaker, you need a formal registration. Double-click PubMedMaker, click "On line" tab panel, and click "Register on line". You can reach my registration web page at <http://order.kagi.com/?ZWK>.[PubMedMaker 7] A single user license, costed US$ 25, includes 2 licences for PubMedMaker 7 for Macintosh and Windows versions.
[PubMedMaker/PubMedMaker X] A single user license, costed US$ 25, includes 3 licences for PubMedMaker X, PubMedMaker for Macintosh and Windows versions.A formal registration code and a pass word for the templates of PubMedMaker will be sent via e-mail within 24 hours.

FM Style Maker, a FileMaker Pro template, exports styled list and table with HTML and Rich text format (RTF) from your data stored in FileMaker Pro, Tab-separated text, CSV, Works. You can learn how to make tagged text file by FileMaker Pro.

FM Style Maker is a shareware. But has no protection and no functional limitation. You can freely learn Scripts, Field definitions, and technique used in FM Style Maker. However, if you use these techniques in you freeware or shareware, please register.1) License cost: US$8 per user.
