1 Aims
(1) "You're My Valentine"(Carolyn Graham)、絵本"I LIKE YOU"、handprintづくりを楽しむことができる。
(2) 日本のバレンタインを比べながら、欧米のバレンタインについて知ることができる。
(3) 三つのactivityを通して、I like 〜の表現に親しむことができる。

9 1 Review
Listen to the chant.
  1. "Holiday Chant"(Carolyn Graham)をCDで聴く。(Just listen.)
  2. month cardとholiday cardを掲示しながら聴く。(Look at these cards. Do you remember them?)
  3. 黒板に掲示されたcardを指しながら聴く。(Let's do the chant with pointing to the cards.)


5 2 Listening
He is a boy and she is a girl. What are they doing now?
She gives a Valentine card to him. Do you know the history of Valentine's Day?
Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine.
Girls give some chocolates to boys in Japan. But in Canada they give candy, flowers, cards to their friends, families, girlfriends and boyfriends.
10 3 Activity 1
"You're My Valentine"(Carolyn Graham)
  1. Listen to the music. Can you hear any animals you know?
  2. One more time. Listen carefully.
  3. Let's sing together.
  1. どんな動物が出てくるかに注意して聞くよう促す。
  2. 歌に出てくる動物カードを裏返しにして掲示し、子供たちが聴き取れた動物カードから順に表に向けていく。
  3. 歌える部分を一緒に歌ってみる。

Make a heart in hand Valentine Card
  1. Trace your handprint on construction paper.
  2. Carefully cut it out.
  3. Cut out some red, pink or purple hearts.
  4. Glue a heart onto your handprint cutout.
  5. Write your name in a heart.
  6. Bring it to me.
