Saturday, 24 February, 2001 - Fed Cup|
The Daily Telegraph (news.com.au) reported yesterday that a Tennis Australia spokesperson had said on 22nd February that Australia's Fed Cup squad would be selected in 2 weeks and the official team (4 players) would be named in mid April. According to this article, Australia's Fed Cup captain Lesley Bowrey expects to get an answer - whether Miss Dokic wishes to play in the Fed Cup or not - from her when she plays the Ericsson Open in Miami, Florida starting 21st March.
Tennis Australia official website has announced on 22nd February that the first round Fed Cup tie between Australia and Austria would be played on grass at Memorial Drive in Adelaide on 28-29 April. The Fed Cup 2001 will be played under a new format with the first 2 rounds of the the World Group play-offs using a home-and-away knock-out format.
Tuesday, 13 February, 2001 - Saddlebrook
According to DOKICPAGE, the Daily Telegraph (news.com.au) reported today that Miss Dokic and her mother had finally left their Fairfield home yesterday to join their family in Saddlebrook, Florida. Her father and brother seem to have already left Australia and moved to Florida last week.
-- DOKICPAGE showed an admirable attitude about this matter. He said: " Personally id like to thank Jelena for her commitment to Australian tennis in the past few years and i wish her the best in the future."
-- I am still hoping she will return to her adopted country, because I also like Australia so that many other Japanese may be so. And another reason is that her condition and actions are always reported if she lives in Australia.
Sunday, 11 February, 2001 - Fairfield
According to DOKICPAGE, a fansite in Sydney, Miss Dokic and her mother seem to have returned to their Fairfield home (not Saddlebrook, Florida) from Japan on 8th February.
Wednesday, 07 February, 2001 - Dream Match 2001
Miss Dokic lost to Amanda Coetzer both days in the Dream Match 2001.
She wore the cream-colored shirt and skirt, and used the new racquet, HEAD i.S6 mid plus model.
Anna Kournikova seemed to feel the ache for her left waist.

Sunday, 04 February, 2001 - Toray Pan Pacific Open, Dream Match 2001
Miss Dokic appeared again in the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium today with her mother. Lindsay Davenport won her 1st title of the season at the Toray Pan Pacific Open with a 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2 victory over Martina Hingis.
Miss Dokic will play in the exhibition, Dream Match 2001, against Amanda Coetzer tomorrow in Nagoya and the day after tomorrow in Osaka, Japan. Nagoya event is due to be broadcast by Tokai Television from 0:55 am to 2:20 am on Tuesday. Osaka event is due to be broadcast by Mainichi Television from 1:50 am to 2:45 am on Friday.
Saturday, 03 February, 2001 - Toray Pan Pacific Open
Miss Dokic appeared in the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium with her mother to watch semi-final matches of the Toray Pan Pacific Open. Defending Champion Martina Hingis struggled but defeated 8th seeded Magdalena Maleeva, 6-3, 1-6, 6-0. In the other today's match, 2nd seeded Lindsay Davenport beat 3rd seeded Anna Kournikova, 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-0. The final matches of both singles and doubles will be played tomorrow afternoon.
Thursday, 01 February, 2001 - Dream Match 2001
According to some huge tennis fans in Japan, Miss Dokic arrived in Tokyo today (with her mother) for Dream Match 2001. She is staying at a hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo with other players participating in the Toray Pan Pacific Open.

Yugoslav daily paper, Vecernje Novosti reported today that her father and brother would be moving to Florida while she was playing in Japan. The paper also reported that her father had been in contact with director of Yugoslav tennis teams, Radmilo Armenulic. Yugoslav Blic News reported on 25th January that she would play in an exhibition tournament this summer in Budva, Montenegro with Monica Seles and some other high ranked female players.
