Next week, she will face 1999 Champion Lindsay Davenport, who ousted Patty Schnyder, 6-2, 6-3 at today's 1st match on the same court, for a place in the quarter-finals.

The 3rd round match between 14th seeded Miss Dokic and 21st seeded Barbara Schett is scheduled at today's 2nd match on the Court-1, following another 3rd round match between 30th seeded Patty Schnyder and 3rd seeded Lindsay Davenport on the same court.
In the 2nd round of the ladies' doubles, Miss Dokic and partner Conchita Martinez struggled but defeated French pair of Emilie Loit and Anne-Gaelle Sidot, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-4 at yesterday's 3rd match on the Court-14.
The 1st round match for Miss Dokic and partner Jeff Tarango in the mixed doubles was postponed yesterday due to rain delay. They are rescheduled to play off at the 4th match on the Court-3 today.
Conchita Martinez defeated Lilia Osterloh of the United States, 6-2, 6-3 at yesterday's rain-interrupted 1st match on the Court-13. She will next meet Russian Lina Krasnoroutskaya in the 4th round of the ladies' singles.

Miss Dokic will next meet 21st seed Barbara Schett, who was a 7-6(5) 6-3 victor over Nathalie Dechy on the Court-9 yesterday. The winner will face either 30th seed Patty Schnyder or 3rd seed Lindsay Davenport in the 4th round.

Miss Dokic advanced to the 3rd round of singles, cruising to a 6-2 6-4 victory over Jennifer Hopkins at today's rain delayed 2nd match on the Court-2.
The Wimbledon 2001 official website has announced the mixed doubles draw. Miss Dokic will team up with Jeff Tarango (USA) for a 1st round match against Chanda Rubin (USA) and Jeff Coetzee (RSA). They have been seeded No.14 in the bottom half of the draw.
According to the Tennis Australia official website, Australia's Fed Cup Captain, Lesley Bowrey, today announced Australia's team members for the 2nd round play-off tie. The same members as before - Rachel McQuillan, Evie Dominikovic, Alicia Molik and Nicole Pratt - will play against Switzerland on 21st and 22nd July on grass courts at The Royal Sydney Golf Club. Alicia Molik lost her 2nd round match to 3rd seed Lindsay Davenport on the Centre Court today.

In the 1st round of the ladies' doubles, Miss Dokic and partner Conchita Martinez fought back after losing the 1st set to defeat Ruxandra Dragomir Ilie and Andrea Glass, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 at today's 3rd match on the Court-6. They will next meet French pair of Emilie Loit and Anne-Gaelle Sidot in the 2nd round.
The 1994 champion Conchita Martinez was seeded No.19 in the top half of the singles draw. She has already progressed to the 3rd round with a 6-2 3-6 6-3 win over Daja Bedanova (CZE) in the 1st round and a 7-5 6-4 win over Sandra Cacic (USA) at today's 1st match on the Court-3.
Miss Dokic will play her 2nd round singles match against Jennifer Hopkins tomorrow before meeting either Nathalie Dechy (FRA) or 21st seed Barbara Schett (AUT) in the 3rd round.

Wearing a retro Bjorn Borg style shirt, Miss Dokic won over un-seeded Paraguayan Rosanna De Los Rios, 7-5, 6-1 at today's 1st match on the Court-3 to set up a 2nd round clash with Jennifer Hopkins of the United States, who defeated Mariana Diaz-Oliva, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 on the Court-6 today in the 1st round.

The 2001 Lawn Tennis Championships starts at the All England Lawn Tennis Club on Monday.
The official website notified the order of play for the opening day. Miss Dokic was seeded No.14, 2 places above her WTA ranking, and seems to be playing her opening round match on and after 26th June against Rossana De Los Rios in the bottom half of the draw. The winner will face either Mariana Diaz-Oliva (ARG) or Jennifer Hopkins (USA) in the 2nd round. The mixed doubles draws are not available.

Miss Dokic suffered semifinal-round defeat in Den Bosch with a 4-6 2-6 loss to Kim Clijsters at the 2nd match on the Centre Court today. Top seed Kim Clijsters was set up an all-Belgium final with 2nd seed compatriot Justine Henin, who defeated Iroda Tulyaganova, 6-3, 6-2 at today's 3rd match on the Centre Court.
Kim Clijsters reached finals both in singles and doubles. The following are today's doubles semi-finals results.

Miss Dokic played today for a semi-final berth both in the singles and the doubles at Den Bosch.
In the quarter-finals of singles, she ousted 5th seed Henrieta Nagyova, 6-2, 6-0 at today's 2nd match on the Centre Court. She will next face No.1 seed and French Open finalist Kim Clijsters (BEL), who defeated 1999 champion Kristina Brandi (USA), 6-3, 6-4 at today's 3rd match on the Centre Court.

Miss Dokic advanced to the quarter-finals of the Heineken Trophy with a 6-2 6-2 win over Miriam Oremans, who was the runner-up in Birmingham last week, at today's 4th match on the Centre Court. She will next meet 5th seed Henrieta Nagyova (SVK), who defeated Barbara Rittner (GER), 6-3, 7-6 (5) at today's 2nd round match on the Court-2.

Miss Dokic and partner Elena Dementieva advanced to the quarter-finals, after defeating Bianka Lamade and Patty Schnyder, 6-1, 6-4 at today's 4th match on the Court-2 in Rosmalen. They will next face the 3rd seeded pair of Kim Clijsters and Miriam Oremans for a place in the semi-finals.
Miss Dokic's 2nd round opponent in the singles is wildcard Miriam Oremans, who defeated Nicole Pratt, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 at today's 1st match on the Center Court.
Miss Dokic will play Rossana De Los Rios (PAR) in the opening round before meeting either Mariana Diaz-Oliva (ARG) or Jennifer Hopkins (USA) in the next round. She has been drawn to face 3rd seed Lindsay Davenport (USA) in the 4th round, and 7th seed Kim Clijsters (BEL) in the quarter-finals.

Miss Dokic participated in another pre-Wimbledon tournament this week. The Heineken Trophy 2001, Tier3 grass-court event, will be held from today through 24th June at Autotron in 's-Hertogenbosch (Rosmalen), the Netherlands. The official website has announced the main draws today. Miss Dokic, seeded No.4 in the singles, played today's 2nd match on the Center Court against Mariana Diaz-Oliva (ARG) in the 1st round. She won in a straight-sets, 6-4, 6-2. Her next round opponent will be either Nicole Pratt (AUS) or wildcard Miriam Oremans (NED).
According to the Wimbledon 2001 official website, Miss Dokic is likely to be seeded No.14 at this year's Championships. The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club will make the draw tomorrow.

According to the BBC Sport News, Miss Dokic suffered a 2nd round loss to Australia's Alicia Molik, 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 at today's 2nd match on the Center Court in Edgbaston. The WTA Tour official website announced yesterday that Miss Dokic was named "Nasdaq Player of the Month" for May as voted on by members of the International Tennis Writers Association. This year's "Nasdaq Player of the Month" winners are Jennifer Capriati (January and April), Amelie Mauresmo (February), Venus Williams (March) and Miss Dokic (May).

The LTA Online website announced yesterday the doubles main draw, in which Miss Dokic was not included.
After receiving a 1st-round bye in the singles, she will play her 2nd round match against Alicia Molik, who defeated Dawn Buth, 6-2, 7-5 at today's opening match on the Court-2, according to the BBC Sport News.
Wimbledon 2001 official website announced today that there would be 32 seeded players, instead of 16, both in men's and women's singles events at this year's Wimbledon. Under the new formula, the 32 seeds will be the top 32 players on the ATP Entry System rankings and the WTA Tour rankings. But the order of seeded players will be arranged on a surface-based system. These seeding changes will be adopted by all 4 Grand Slam tournaments.

Jennifer Capriati won her second Grand Slam title in a row with a marathon victory over Kim Clijsters, 1-6, 6-4, 12-10 at Saturday's singles final. She dedicated her victory to friend Corina Morariu, who is receiving treatment for leukemia in Florida. According to the Friday's Tennis.net report, Corina Morariu seems to be in good spirits and sitting watching the French Open on her television every day at the Jackson Memorial Hospital after undergoing chemotherapy. Belgian teenager Kim Clijsters won 131 points compared to Capriati's 126 in a 141 minutes-match, which was her first ever Grand Slam title match.
Miss Dokic is scheduled to play her doubles final match with partner Conchita Martinez at the Court-1 from 13:00 today. She reached the Grand Slam final for the first time in her senior tour career.
To my surprise, Miss Dokic will participate this week in the DFS Classic International Women's Tennis, Tier3 grass-court event, which will be held from 11th through 17th June at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, Great Britain. The Lawn Tennis Association official website (LTA Online) has already announced the main draw of singles. She has been seeded No.2 and given a opening-round bye. In the 2nd round, she will meet either Alicia Molik (AUS) or Dawn Buth (USA).

Miss Dokic suffered a tough loss to qualifier Petra Mandula, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6 at today's 5th match on the Philippe Chatrier Court (transferred from the Suzanne Lenglen Court) in the 3rd round of singles. She received treatment on her ankle in the 3rd set, but seemed to be not too seriously injured.
In the 2nd round of women's doubles, Miss Dokic and partner Conchita Martinez are scheduled to meet Nathalie Dechy and Nadejda Petrova at the 3rd match on the Court-1 tomorrow.
According to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club website, the Seeding for Wimbledon 2001 will be announced on 18th June and the Draw will be held on 19th June. The Championships official website will be launched on 12th June. The 2001 Championships starts on 25th June. (Qualifying begins on 18th June.)
