Monday, 31 March, 2003 - Sarasota Clay Court Classic, WTA Rankings
The 2003 Sarasota Clay Court Classic official website announced the doubles main draw today. Miss Dokic will team up again with Nadia Petrova, who is now playing in the qualifying to move into the singles main draw. They were seeded No.1 and were drawn to play Rika Fujiwara and Jennifer Hopkins in the opening round. Last year's partner Elena Likhovtseva seems not to participate in the doubles competition.
The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables today. Miss Dokic slipped 1 place to No.10 in the singles rankings but remains at No.13 position in the doubles.

Sunday, 30 March, 2003 - Nasdaq-100 Open, Sarasota Clay Court Classic
After reaching the final with a 6-4 6-2 win over 3rd seeded Kim Clijsters in the semi-finals on Thursday, the top-seeded defending champion Serena Williams defeated 6th seed Jennifer Capriati, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to capture the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open title on Saturday and remained unbeaten this season. Jennifer Capriati, who celebrated her 27th birthday on Saturday, lost in her 3rd Miami final in a row to Williams sisters.
The WTA Tour official website announced the singles main draw of the 2003 Sarasota Clay Court Classic today. Defending champion Miss Dokic was seeded No.1 and will meet Paola Suarez in the opening round. Last year's runner-up Tatiana Panova, who was seeded 8th for the event, is among Miss Dokic's potential quarterfinal opponents. The 2nd seeded player is the 2003 Qatar Open champion, Anastasia Myskina.

Thursday, 27 March, 2003 - Nasdaq-100 Open, Sarasota Clay Court Classic
Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova lost a tightly contested match with Italian pair of Silvia Farina Elia and Tathiana Garbin, 6-3, 6-7 (2), 4-6 in the 2nd round of the doubles competition in Miami on Wednesday.
This year's clay-court season starts next week. Miss Dokic has committed to play in the tier4 Sarasota Clay Court Classic as the defending champion for singles and doubles. The season's first tournament will be held from 31st March to 6th April at the Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, Florida. The tournament official website has announced the main draw will be posted Sunday evening.

Wednesday, 26 March, 2003 - Nasdaq-100 Open
Miss Dokic suffered a straight-set loss at the hands of 3rd seeded Kim Clijsters, 2-6, 0-6 in the quarter-finals of the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open on Tuesday night. However, apart from the disappointing score-line, she made her best run of the last 6 months in Miami.

Tuesday, 25 March, 2003 - Nasdaq-100 Open, WTA Tour Player Awards
Miss Dokic advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open with a straight-set victory over Alicia Molik, winning 6-1, 6-4 in the 4th round on Monday afternoon.
Sorry, I am not sure about the score-line of the 1st set. Miss Dokic converted 3 break points in the 1st set.

The WTA Tour announced the 2002 Player Awards line-up. The awards were presented by the Tour on court at the Crandon Park Tennis Center in Miami on Friday and Monday.

Miss Dokic scored a 6-3, 6-2 victory over 21st seeded Nathalie Dechy in the rain-delayed 3rd round of the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open on Sunday afternoon. It was the first time since September, 2002 in Tokyo that she won 2 singles matches in a row.

Miss Dokic won her 1st match at the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open, defeating Russian tough opponent Svetlana Kuznetsova, 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the 2nd round on Friday evening.

Alicia Molik eliminated 5th seed Daniela Hantuchova, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0, while Nicole Pratt ousted 19th seed Elena Dementieva, 7-5, 6-4, in the 2nd round. However Evie Dominikovic, who moved into the main draw as a lucky loser thanks to the withdrawal of 10th seeded Monica Seles due to a left foot injury, was defeated by another two-hander on both sides, Marion Bartoli from France, 6-4, 6-7 (1), 1-6.

After receiving a bye into the 2nd round, The 9th seeded Miss Dokic will play Svetlana Kuznetsova at the opening match of Friday's evening session on Grandstand Court at the Crandon Park Tennis Center. The match is due to start at 17:00 or later (local time).

They were seeded 8th in the bottom half of the draw and were drawn to play wild cards Eleni Daniilidou and Alexandra Stevenson in the opening round. The doubles 1st-round matches are scheduled on Sunday and Monday.

Tuesday, 20 March, 2003 - Nasdaq-100 Open
Miss Dokic will meet Svetlana Kuznetsova in the 2nd round of the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open on Friday. The 17-year-old Russian prospect defeated Virginia Ruano Pascual, 6-3, 6-2 in the 1st-round action on Wednesday at the Crandon Park Tennis Center.

The 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open official website announced the singles main draws on Monday. Miss Dokic was seeded 9th in the 3rd seeded Kim Clijsters' 2nd quarter of the draw. Top 32 seeds in a 96 field will receive byes in the opening round. She was drawn to meet either Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain or Russian rising star Svetlana Kuznetsova in the 2nd round. Top 2 seeds are defending champion Serena Williams and her sister Venus Williams. The main draw starts on Wednesday morning and the 2nd-round matches are scheduled on Friday and Saturday when U.S. forces are expected to launch military action in Iraq.

Monday, 17 March, 2003 - Pacific Life Open, Nasdaq-100 Open, WTA Rankings
Kim Clijsters and Lindsay Davenport reached the finals in both the singles and doubles at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden last week. The top seed Kim Clijsters won her 2nd singles title of the year with a 6-4 7-5 victory over 4th seeded Lindsay Davenport on Sunday in a rematch of their adidas International final in January when Kim Clijsters defeated Lindsay Davenport, 6-4, 6-3. It was the 4th final of the year for Kim Clijsters in only her 5th tournament of this season. Following the women's singles final, the defending champion Lleyton Hewitt defeated Gustavo Kuerten, 6-1, 6-1 to win the men's title. In the rain-postponed doubles final, 8th seeded team of Lindsay Davenport and Lisa Raymond defeated the 3rd seeds Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 later Sunday to gain revenge for their final-round loss at Scottsdale 2 weeks ago.
The 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open official website has announced that the main draws will be available on Monday afternoon. According to the court-side reports by Miami tennis fans on the WTAworld.com, Miss Dokic was practicing with Nadia Petrova and a male player (may be her coach or a hitting partner) at the Crandon Park Tennis Center this weekend.

Friday, 14 March, 2003 - Pacific Life Open, Nasdaq-100 Open
Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova were defeated by 8th seeded pair of Lindsay Davenport and Lisa Raymond, on Stadium Court-2 Thursday afternoon, 4-6, 4-6 in the semi-finals of the 2003 Pacific Life Open.
Miss Dokic will take part in the 2003 Nasdaq-100 Open next week. The 12-day Tier1 hard-court tournament will start on 19th March at the Crandon Park Tennis Center in Miami, Florida. The women's singles title match will be played on Saturday, 29th March, while the women's doubles final will be held on Sunday, 30th March, following the men's singles final. The women's qualifying rounds are scheduled for Monday to Wednesday.

Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova upset 4th seeded pair of Elena Bovina and Rennae Stubbs, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the quarter-finals of the 2003 Pacific Life Open on Tuesday. Our 7th seeded team will next face 8th seeded pair of Lindsay Davenport and Lisa Raymond, the 2003 Toray Pan Pacific Open doubles finalists, in the semi-finals on Thursday.

Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova defeated Jelena Kostanic and Henrieta Nagyova in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6 (4) on Saturday to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2003 Pacific Life Open, where 4th seeds Elena Bovina and Rennae Stubbs, the 2003 Toray Pan Pacific Open doubles champion team, are waiting.

Miss Dokic was not able to remain in the 2nd week in the singles competition at Indian Wells as she fell to Barbara Rittner, 1-6, 7-5, 3-6 in the 2nd round of the Pacific Life Open on Friday. It was the 3rd opening-match loss in her 5 tournaments in 2003 season.

Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova advanced to the 2nd round of the Pacific Life Open when they scored a 7-5 6-1 win over Trudi Musgrave and Abigail Spears at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Thursday. Next up for them will be the winners of a match between Jelena Kostanic / Henrieta Nagyova and qualifiers, Flavia Pennetta / Maria Emilia Salerni.
In the singles competition, 2nd-round matches in the bottom half of the draw were played on Thursday. Miss Dokic will meet Barbara Rittner at Friday's 2nd match on Stadium Court with the 1st match between Marion Bartoli and 8th seed Chanda Rubin starting at 10:00 a.m. (local time).

Thursday, 06 March, 2003 - Pacific Life Open
All opening round matches at Indian Wells were completed Wednesday on schedule. Miss Dokic will play her opening match against Barbara Rittner after receiving a bye into the 2nd round. The 29-year-old from Germany defeated Canadian qualifier Maureen Drake, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) in the opening day.

The 2003 Pacific Life Open official website announced yesterday the doubles main draw and the singles qualifiers. Miss Dokic seems to pair up again with Nadia Petrova, who failed to move into the main draw of the singles, falling Tuesday to compatriot Evgenia Koulikovskaya, 6-3, 6-4 in the qualifying final round. They were seeded 7th in the bottom half of the draw and were drawn to meet Trudi Musgrave of Australia and Abigail Spears of the United States in the 1st round. The singles 2nd-round opponent for Miss Dokic will be the winner of a 1st-round match between Barbara Rittner of Germany and qualifier Maureen Drake from Canada. They are scheduled to meet at the 6th match on Court-5 Wednesday evening.

Tuesday, 04 March, 2003 - Pacific Life Open
The WTA Tour official website announced the singles main draw for the 2003 Pacific Life Open yesterday. 4 of the top 10 players - Serena and Venus Williams, Monica Seles and Justine Henin-Hardenne - will be absent from a big event in 2003 American WTA tour season. Miss Dokic was seeded 6th in the 2nd quarter of the draw. Top 32 seeds in a 96 field will receive 1st-round byes. She will play her 2nd round match against either Barbara Rittner of Germany or a qualifier. She was drawn to meet former doubles partner Conchita Martinez in the next round and probably will face defending champion and 3rd seed Daniela Hantuchova in the quarter-finals, if she conquers the 26th seed. Top seed is Scottsdale runner-up Kim Clijsters and 2nd seed is Jennifer Capriati. The 2000 champion Lindsay Davenport was seeded 4th. The 1st round of the main draw starts on Wednesday morning.

Monday, 03 March, 2003 - State Farm Women's Tennis, Mexican Open, WTA Rankings

Her semi-final matches had been postponed from Saturday due to the wet conditions. She survived a tough semi-final match against Alexandra Stevenson, 6-7 (2), 6-2, 7-6 (7) and then upset 2nd seeded doubles partner Kim Clijsters also in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the final to claim her 4th career singles title and the 1st singles title since the 1998 Japan Open in Tokyo. She also captured her 23rd WTA doubles crown later Sunday. Ai Sugiyama and partner Kim Clijsters, seeded No.2 in the doubles, defeated French pair of Marion Bartoli and Stephanie Cohen-Aloro, 7-5, 6-0 in a semi-final before beating US team of Lindsay Davenport and Lisa Raymond, 6-1, 6-4 in the title match.
In Acapulco, the 2nd seeded 31-year-old Amanda Coetzer claimed her 9th singles career title on Sunday with a 7-5 6-3 victory over Mariana Diaz-Oliva at the final of the 2003 Abierto Mexicano de Tenis. It was her 2nd Mexican Open title since 2001.

Miss Dokic will participate in the 2003 Pacific Life Open this week. The Tier1 hard-court tournament begins on Wednesday at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California. The women's singles final is scheduled for Sunday, 16th March (not on Saturday). The women's qualifying round will take place from Monday to Tuesday. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden official website (www.iwtg.net) has announced that the Mercedes-Benz Ladies Day Fashion Show will be held on this Saturday, featuring tennis players and professional models.

Saturday, 01 March, 2003 - State Farm Women's Tennis Classic
Miss Dokic had another bad day. She and partner Daja Bedanova lost to Marion Bartoli and Stephanie Cohen-Aloro, 0-6, 2-6 in the opening round of the doubles competition at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess on Friday. The French team also defeated Russian pair of Alina Jidkova and Evgenia Koulikovskaya, 6-4, 6-2 later Friday to progress to the semi-finals, where the 2nd seeds Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama are waiting.
