Saturday, 31 May, 2003 - Roland Garros
The 3rd-round opponents at the 2003 French Open for the 5th seeded pair of Miss Dokic and Nadia Petrova will be the 11th seeds Janette Husarova and Barbara Schett, who defeated Aussie team of Catherine Barclay and Rachel McQuillan, 6-2, 7-5 in the 2nd round on Saturday. Partner Nadia Petrova is continuing her outstanding run in the singles, moving into the 4th round on Saturday with a straight-set victory over Marissa Irvin by the same score as Thursday, 6-1, 6-1. She was set to meet 7th seed Jennifer Capriati for a quarter-final berth. Tina Pisnik lost to 24th seed Conchita Martinez, 3-6, 3-6.

Friday, 30 May, 2003 - Roland Garros
Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova cruised past Marion Bartoli and Myriam Casanova, 6-2, 6-1 Friday afternoon to progress to the 3rd round of women's doubles at the 2003 French Open.

Thursday, 29 May, 2003 - Roland Garros, Athens Olympics
The 10th seeded Miss Dokic suffered a 2nd-round defeat in her first Grand Slam tournament of the year, falling in three sets to Tina Pisnik, 6-4, 3-6, 2-6 at Roland Garros on Thursday. This marked her first loss in 5 WTA Tour meetings between the two. According to the match statistics, Miss Dokic hit 42 winners compared to just 13 for Tina Pisnik, while she made 89 unforced errors compared to Pisnik's 42. Tina Pisnik will meet the 24th seeded former world No.2 Conchita Martinez in the next round.

In the doubles action, Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova are due to play their 2nd-round match Friday afternoon. They will meet Marion Bartoli and Myriam Casanova at the 2nd match on Court-17 with the 1st match beginning at 12:00 noon (local time). Doubles partner Nadia Petrova has eased past Silvija Talaja, 6-1, 6-1 earlier Thursday.
According to the ITF's "This Week" (Special Edition as of 29th May 2003), both men and women will receive ranking points at the 2004 Athens Olympics. It is the first time that WTA ranking points will be awarded for the Olympic Games. The ATP has awarded ranking points for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The Olympic Tennis Event will be held from 15th to 22nd August, 2004 at the new Olympic Tennis Centre in Athens, Greece.

Wednesday, 28 May, 2003 - Roland Garros
The 5th seeded pair of Miss Dokic and Nadia Petrova advanced to the 2nd round of women's doubles, defeating Spaniard team of Conchita Martinez Granados and Maria-Jose Martinez, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at Roland Garros on Wednesday. They will next meet Marion Bartoli of France and Myriam Casanova from Switzerland. In the singles competition, Miss Dokic's 2nd-round clash with Tina Pisnik is scheduled at Thursday's 3rd match on Court-2. She seems not to play in the mixed doubles. The tournament official website announced today the mixed doubles draw, in which her name was not included.

Miss Dokic a little bit struggled but finally defeated Angelika Roesch in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 in the opening round of the 2003 French Open on Tuesday.

The 2003 French Open got under way at Roland Garros with the top half of the singles draws in action on Monday morning. The 10th seeded Miss Dokic begins her Roland Garros campaign with an opening round clash against Germany's Angelika Roesch at the 1st match on Court-2 Tuesday morning. Play is due to start at 11:00 a.m. (local time) on all courts. The tournament official website announced the women's doubles main draw today. Miss Dokic and Nadia Petrova, seeded 5th, will pair up for a 1st-round doubles match against Spaniard team of Conchita Martinez Granados and Maria-Jose Martinez. Nadia Petrova will meet 12th seed Monica Seles again at the 4th match on Court-1 Tuesday evening.

Sunday, 25 May, 2003 - Strasbourg International, Madrid Open, WTA Rankings
The 7th-seeded veteran Silvia Farina Elia won her 3rd straight title of the Internationaux de Strasbourg, stopping qualifier Karolina Sprem's remarkable run, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in Saturday's final. The 18-year-old Karolina Sprem reached her first-ever WTA Tour final with a 3-6 6-3 6-4 upset win over 6th seed Vera Zvonareva of Russia in the semi-finals on Friday.
In Madrid, the top-seeded Chanda Rubin captured her first title of the season by edging out home favorite Maria Sanchez Lorenzo, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 at the 2003 Open de Espana Madrid final on Saturday.
The WTA Tour official website released today new ranking tables as of 26th May. Miss Dokic fell out of the singles top 10 again, switching places with Anastasia Myskina, and slipped 1 place to No.15 in the doubles rankings.

The 2003 French Open official website announced the singles main draws today. Miss Dokic was seeded 10th in the 2nd seeded Kim Clijsters's 4th quarter of the draw and was drawn to meet Angelika Roesch of Germany in the opening round. She reached the quarter-finals of last year's tournament, falling to top seeded Jennifer Capriati in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 1-6. This year's 2nd Grand Slam tournament will be held from 26th May to 8th June at Roland Garros in Paris. The top seed is defending champion Serena Williams. According to a tennis fan's report posted to the WTAworld.com on Friday, Miss Dokic has already arrived in Paris along with other top players including injured Monica Seles.

Tuesday, 20 May, 2003 - Strasbourg International, Roland Garros
Miss Dokic will play her opening match at the 2003 Internationaux de Strasbourg with Karolina Sprem, who advanced to the 2nd round after defeating local wild card Tatiana Golovin, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 at the 1st match on Center Court on Tuesday. The qualifier from Croatia stretched Anastasia Myskina to three sets before losing, 1-6, 6-3, 0-6, and then she defeated Elena Likhovtseva in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 at the 2003 Fed Cup World Group 1st-round tie against Russia in Moscow in April.

Miss Dokic and Nadia Petrova unfortunately lost to the 5th seeded pair of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Martina Navratilova, 4-6, 7-5, 2-6 in Sunday's doubles final at Foro Italico. However our 4th seeded team showed an impressive comeback in the 2nd set after losing the tightly contested opening set. In the singles, 2nd seed Kim Clijsters won her 3rd title of the season by defeating 4th seed Amelie Mauresmo, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-0.
Miss Dokic will not play in the doubles this week. The WTA Tour official website announced today the doubles main draw of the 2003 Internationaux de Strasbourg, in which her name was not included.

Sunday, 18 May, 2003 - Italian Open, Strasbourg International
The 4th seeded team of Miss Dokic and Nadia Petrova reached the doubles final in Rome with a 4-6 6-4 6-2 win over Slovenian pair of Tina Krizan and Katarina Srebotnik on Saturday evening. They will play their first final of the season with the 5th seeded pair of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Martina Navratilova, who have won Gold Coast and Dubai this season, on Center Court at Foro Italico, following the singles final on Sunday. The singles final will be played between 2nd seed Kim Clijsters and 4th seed Amelie Mauresmo on Center Court, starting at 3:00 p.m. (local time). Amelie Mauresmo ousted top seeded defending champion Serena Williams in three sets, 1-6, 7-5, 6-3, while Kim Clijsters stopped 13th seed Ai Sugiyama's run in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2 in the other semi-final on Saturday.
According to the WTA Tour official website, Miss Dokic took part in a "Young Village" session for kids at Foro Italico on Thursday to talk about her life on the Tour and give some advice about their tennis.
Miss Dokic will participate in the 2003 Internationaux de Strasbourg this week. The tier3 final tuneup tournament for Roland Garros will take place from 19th May on red-clay at the Centre Sportif de Hautepierre in Strasbourg, France. Both singles and doubles finals will be played on Saturday, 24th May. The WTA Tour official website announced the singles main draw today. Miss Dokic was seeded No.1 in a 30 field and will receive a 1st-round bye along with the 2nd seeded Anastasia Myskina. She will play her 2nd-round match with either local wild card Tatiana Golovin or a qualifier. She was last year's runner-up to the 2-time champion Silvia Farina Elia, who was seeded 7th in this year's event.

Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova progressed to the semi-finals of the 2003 Telecom Italia Masters, fighting back from a set down to defeat the 8th seeded pair of Emmanuelle Gagliardi and Petra Mandula on Pallacorda Court Friday night, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. They will now meet Slovenian pair of Tina Krizan and Katarina Srebotnik at Saturday's evening session on Pallacorda Court at Foro Italico, starting at 4:00 p.m. (local time).
The previous meetings between the two teams are as follows:

Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova have gained revenge for their 2nd-round loss at the Nasdaq-100 Open with a straight-set win over Silvia Farina Elia and Tathiana Garbin, 6-3, 6-4 at Foro Italico on Wednesday. They will next meet the 8th seeded pair of Emmanuelle Gagliardi and Petra Mandula, the 2003 Australian Open semi-finalists, in the quarter-finals on Friday. In the singles competition, Conchita Martinez recorded a straight sets victory over 7th seed Daniela Hantuchova, winning 6-3 6-3 in the 3rd round on Thursday to continue her outstanding run. While Nadia Petrova lost to the 5th seeded Jennifer Capriati, 5-7, 3-6 at Thursday's 2nd match on Center Court.

Wednesday, 14 May, 2003 - Italian Open
After receiving a 1st-round bye, the 4th seeded team of Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova will meet again Silvia Farina Elia and Tathiana Garbin at the 4th match on Pallacorda Court at Foro Italico on Wednesday. They have played each other in Miami in March, when Italian pair won in three sets, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4. Nadia Petrova moved into the 3rd round of singles when 10th seed Monica Seles retired at 1-4 in the 2nd set due to a left foot injury after dropping the 1st set, 3-6 at Wednesday's 2nd match on Center Court.
Miss Dokic reportedly said after her 1st-round match on Monday: "Right now, I'm struggling a little against myself and I'm losing a few matches... I just hope a change comes quickly. Mentally, I'm not as strong as I used to be."

Monday, 12 May, 2003 - Italian Open, German Open, WTA Rankings
The 2003 Telecom Italia Masters official website has announced the doubles main draw on Sunday (not on Monday). Miss Dokic will team up again with Nadia Petrova. Top 4 seeds will receive 1st-round byes in a 28 field. They were seeded 4th and will meet an Italian pair in the 2nd round - either Silvia Farina Elia / Tathiana Garbin or Adriana / Antonella Serra-Zanetti. In the singles action, doubles partner Nadia Petrova advanced to the 2nd round after defeating local wild-card Tathiana Garbin in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1 at the opening match on Center Court, while the 9th seeded Miss Dokic made a shock 1st-round exit at the 2nd match on the same court Monday afternoon. She was upset by veteran clay-courter Conchita Martinez in a seesaw match, 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.

The 3rd seeded Justine Henin-Hardenne withdrew from the 2003 Italian Open due to a left knee tendonitis after she defended her title in Berlin with a 6-4 4-6 7-5 upset win over the top seeded fellow Kim Clijsters in Sunday's all Belgian final.
The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables today. Miss Dokic moved into No.10 spot in the singles rankings again, switching places with Anastasia Myskina, and remains at No.16 in the doubles.

Miss Dokic will take part in the 2003 Telecom Italia Masters next week. The tier1 tuneup tournament for Roland Garros will be held from 12th to 18th May on red clay at Parco del Foro Italico in Rome, Italy. The tournament official website announced the singles main draw today. Miss Dokic was seeded 9th in the 1st quarter of the draw. The 2001 champion will meet the four-time winner (1993-1996) and former doubles partner Conchita Martinez in the opening round. There are some similarities to the 2002 event's in this year's her potential opponents. She was drawn to meet the 7th seeded Daniela Hantuchova in the 3rd round and the top seed and defending champion Serena Williams in the quarter-finals. Top 8 seeds in a 56 field will receive byes into the 2nd round. The 2nd seed is Kim Clijsters and the 3rd seed is last year's runner-up Justine Henin-Hardenne. The doubles main draw will be released on Monday.

Miss Dokic and partner Nadia Petrova lost to Liezel Huber and Magdalena Maleeva, 4-6, 5-7 in the quarter-finals of the 2003 MasterCard German Open Friday afternoon.
She reportedly said after her 3rd-round singles match: "I'm trying to take the ball earlier and move forward more (under the instruction of her new coach Heinz Gunthardt), but the practices are different (from what she is used to) and I haven't introduced it successfully into my game yet... I have worked a lot on these changes and it can be confusing, but I feel like it is coming along," the AFP reported on Thursday.

Miss Dokic lost her 3rd-round match during a tie-break in the final set against Iroda Tulyaganova, 6-4, 2-6, 6-7 (0) on red-clay at LTTC Rot-Weiss Thursday afternoon. She recorded her first tie-break loss with a 0-7 score, after winning her 5th tie-break of the season on Wednesday.

Miss Dokic, who had a 1st-round bye, survived a close contest with home favourite Marlene Weingartner, 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Wednesday to progress to the 3rd round of the 2003 Mastercard German Open. Monday, 05 May, 2003 - German Open, WTA Rankings
The WTA Tour official website has announced the doubles main draw of the 2003 Mastercard German Open. Miss Dokic will team up again with Nadia Petrova. Top 4 seeds will receive 1st-round byes in a 28 field. They were seeded 4th and will meet either Els Callens / Iva Majoli or Jelena Kostanic / Katalin Marosi in the 2nd round. Nadia Petrova will play her 1st-round match with qualifier Rossana Neffa-De Los Rios in the singles.
The 2nd seeded Venus Williams has withdrawn from the 2003 Mastercard German Open due to a left abdominal strain. She was forced to retire from the 2003 J&S Cup final with Amelie Mauresmo in Warsaw on Sunday.
The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables today. Miss Dokic fell out of the singles top 10 again, switching places with Anastasia Myskina, and slipped 2 places to No.16 in the doubles rankings.

Miss Dokic lost to the 2nd seeded Amelie Mauresmo, 5-7, 2-6 in the rain-delayed semi-final of the 2003 J&S Cup on Friday. - However, I think she is regaining her form with surviving tough matches last week.

Amelie Mauresmo won her first title of the year with the top seeded Venus Williams retiring due to a left abdominal strain at the score of 6-7 (6) 6-0 3-0 in Sunday's final in Warsaw, while the 3rd seeded Vera Zvonareva won her first career WTA title with a 6-1 6-3 victory over Conchita Martinez Granados in the 2003 Croatian Bol Ladies Open final on Sunday.
Miss Dokic will take part in the 2003 MasterCard German Open this week. The tier1 clay-court tournament will take place from 5th to 11th May at the LTTC Rot-Weis in Berlin, Germany. The tournament official website has announced the singles main draw. Miss Dokic was seeded No.8 in the bottom half of the draw. Top 8 seeds in a 56 field will receive byes into the 2nd round. She will play her opening match with the winner of a 1st-round match between Conchita Martinez and local wild card Marlene Weingartner. The top seed is Kim Clijsters and the 2nd seed is Warsaw's runner-up Venus Williams. The defending champion Justine Henin-Hardenne was seeded 3rd.

Miss Dokic progressed to the semi-finals for the first time this year by defeating Spanish clay-court specialist Magui Serna, 7-5, 6-2 in her 5th quarter-final of the season at the 2003 J&S Cup in Warsaw on Friday.

She will now face the 2nd seeded Amelie Mauresmo, who came through 7th seed Anna Pistolesi, but was stretched to three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the 2nd quarter-final match on Center Court Friday afternoon. They will play each other for a final berth at the 2nd match on Center Court Saturday afternoon (not before 13:30). The 1st match between the top seeded Venus Williams and unseeded Denisa Chladkova is due to start at 12:00 noon (local time).

The 24-year-old Spaniard has recently won two consecutive clay-court tournaments in Portugal and Hungary. They will play each other for a semi-final berth at the opening match on Centre Court, starting at 12:00 noon, on Friday.
