Miss Dokic was defeated by Alexandra Stevenson, 3-6, 1-6 in the 1st round of the 2003 Kremlin Cup on Tuesday.

Monday, 29 September, 2003 - Kremlin Cup, Sparkassen Cup, WTA Rankings
The 2003 Kremlin Cup official website has announced the main draws. In the singles, Miss Dokic is in the 4th quarter of the draw and will meet Alexandra Stevenson in the opening round. They will meet at Tuesday's 2nd match on Court-1, with the 1st match beginning at 11:00 (local time). Her potential 2nd-round opponent is the 2nd-seeded Amelie Mauresmo. The top 4 seeds, including Jennifer Capriati, Elena Dementieva and Anastasia Myskina, will receive 1st-round byes in the 28-player field.

In the doubles, Miss Dokic will team up with a new partner, local teenager Dinara Safina. They are in the bottom half of the draw and will face the 2nd-seeded pair of Cara Black and Elena Likhovtseva in the opening round. Dinara Safina's current doubles ranking is career best No.107 (as of 29th September).
The 3rd-seeded Anastasia Myskina claimed her 3rd title of the season on Sunday by defeating 2nd seed Justine Henin-Hardenne, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the singles final at the 2003 Sparkassen Cup in Leipzig. Anastasia Myskina advanced to the final when top seed Kim Clijsters retired suffering from a right ankle injury in their semi-final match on Saturday.
The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables. Miss Dokic remains at No.26 spot in the singles and No.17 spot in the doubles ranking. There was no change of the top 10's standings.

Saturday, 27 September, 2003 - Sparkassen Cup, Kremlin Cup
Miss Dokic and partner Marion Bartoli could not advance to the doubles final at the 2003 Sparkassen Cup. Our 4th-seeded team was ousted in the semi-finals on Saturday evening, losing to the top-seeded pair of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Martina Navratilova, 3-6, 1-6 at the 4th (last) match on Center Court.
Miss Dokic is scheduled to participate in next week's Kremlin Cup, the only ATP and WTA combined indoor event. The WTA Tour's Tier1 tournament will be held from 29th September to 5th October on supreme-courts at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia. The singles main draw will be released on Sunday.

Friday, 26 September, 2003 - Sparkassen Cup
The 4th seeded pair of Miss Dokic and partner Marion Bartoli advanced to the semi-finals of the 2003 Sparkassen Cup in Leipzig Friday afternoon after surviving a tough three-set battle against Magdalena Maleeva and Patty Schnyder, 6-2, 3-6, 7-5. They will next face the winning team of Friday's last match on Centre Court - Svetlana Kuznetsova and Martina Navratilova. The top seeds ousted Daniela Hantuchova and Barbara Schett in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Thursday, 25 September, 2003 - Sparkassen Cup
After one day-off in Leipzig, Miss Dokic met Top-seeded Kim Clijsters at the 4th (last) match on Centre Court Thursday night. In a one-hour 2nd-round match, which started past 8:00 p.m. (local time), Miss Dokic suffered a straight-set defeat at the hands of her junior day's rival. Despite having broken Clijsters' first service game in both sets, she finally lost, 3-6, 4-6.

Miss Dokic progressed to the 2nd round of the 2003 Sparkassen Cup with a 7-6 (7) 6-4 win over qualifier Jelena Kostanic on Tuesday afternoon. -- Sorry, I am not sure about the score-line because the live-scoreboard went down at the score of 4-4 in the 1st set.

Sunday, 21 September, 2003 - Sparkassen Cup, Polo Open Shanghai
The WTA Tour official website announced the main draws for the 2003 Sparkassen Cup. Miss Dokic, unseeded in the singles, will meet a qualifier in the opening round. Her potential 2nd-round opponent is the top seed and world No.1 Kim Clijsters. The top 4 seeds, including Justine Henin-Hardenne, Anastasia Myskina and Magdalena Maleeva, will receive 1st-round byes in the 28-player field. In the doubles, Miss Dokic seems to team up with Marion Bartoli of France for the first time. They were seeded 4th in the top half of the draw and will play against Magui Serna and Meghann Shaughnessy in the opening round. They are scheduled to meet at the 5th (last) match on Court-1 Monday afternoon. Marion Bartoli has reached the semi-finals in the doubles at the 2003 U.S. Open with partner Myriam Casanova. Her current doubles ranking is career best No.29 (as of 15th September).
Top seeded Elena Dementieva claimed her 3rd title of the season on Sunday after defeating 2nd seed Chanda Rubin again, 6-3, 7-6 (6) in the singles final at the 2003 Polo Open Shanghai. They advanced to a repeat final of last week's Wismilak International by edging past Japanese players in the semi-finals. Elena Dementieva scored a 6-1 3-6 6-3 win over 3rd seed Ai Sugiyama, while Chanda Rubin fought off a gallant challenge from unseeded Akiko Morigami, 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 on Saturday.

Friday, 19 September, 2003 - Sparkassen Cup
The European indoor season starts next week. Miss Dokic will directly enter the main draw of the 2003 Sparkassen Cup International Damen Tennis Grand Prix with returning her wildcard, the tournament official website reported on Thursday. The tier2 supreme-court event will take place from Monday, 22nd September at the Arena Leipzig in Leipzig, Germany. Both singles and doubles finals are scheduled on Sunday, 28th September. The main draw will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (local time). - There is no information at all about how serious her foot injury is. Anyway I hope she will get well soon.

Thursday, 18 September, 2003 - Polo Open Shanghai
According to the WTA Tour official website, Miss Dokic and partner Ashley Harkleroad were forced to withdraw from the doubles competition at the 2003 Polo Shanghai Open, after Miss Dokic suffered from left toe contusion/bruise. They have been replaced by Chinese lucky losers, Yan-Hua Dong and Yao Zhang, who were defeated by Ansley Cargill and Jill Craybas in the 1st-round Thursday evening.

Wednesday, 17 September, 2003 - Polo Open Shanghai
Miss Dokic unfortunately lost to Russian rising star Dinara Safina, 1-6, 4-6 in the 2nd round of the 2003 Polo Shanghai Open Wednesday afternoon. She has won only 6 matches in the singles, playing in 8 tournaments since July. In the doubles, Miss Dokic and partner Ashley Harkleroad are scheduled to play their 1st-round match Thursday evening. They will meet Ansley Cargill and Jill Craybas at the 6th (last) match on Centre Court. Ashley Harkleroad also failed to progress to the quarter-finals, falling to Anca Barna, 0-6, 4-6 in the 2nd round on Wednesday.

Tuesday, 16 September, 2003 - Polo Open Shanghai
Miss Dokic moved into the 2nd round of the 2003 Polo Shanghai Open Tuesday evening when her opponent Jelena Jankovic retired with a shoulder injury at the score of 4-4 in the 2nd set of their opening match after dropping the 1st set in a tie-break, 6-7 (0). Miss Dokic will now meet Dinara Safina, who has advanced with a 6-3 7-5 win over Emmanuelle Gagliardi on Monday. The Russian teenager is the WTA Tour's youngest singles winner ever, winning the 2002 Prokom Open in Sopot at 16 years, 3 months. They will play for a quarter-final berth at the 2nd match on Centre Court Wednesday afternoon, with the 1st match between Ashley Harkleroad and Anca Barna beginning at 11:00 a.m. (local time).

Monday, 15 September, 2003 (2) - Polo Open Shanghai
According to the WTA Tour official website, Miss Dokic's 1st-round opponent Janette Husarova withdrew from the 2003 Polo Shanghai Open. She has been replaced by qualifier Jelena Jankovic, who joined her compatriot in the main draw after defeating Arantxa Parra, 7-5, 6-4 in the qualifying final round on Monday. They are scheduled to meet at the 5th match on Centre Court Tuesday evening (not before 18:30, local time).

Monday, 15 September, 2003 (1) - Polo Open Shanghai, WTA Rankings
The WTA Tour official website announced the doubles main draw for the 2003 Polo Shanghai Open. Miss Dokic will pair up again with Ashley Harkleroad this week. They are unseeded in the top half of the draw and will meet a tough pair of Ansley Cargill and Jill Craybas in the opening round. The Polo-open.com announced Monday's order of play. Miss Dokic is not scheduled to play on Monday in both singles and doubles.
The WTA Tour official website also released new ranking tables. Miss Dokic moved down to No.22 in the singles but remains at No.18 in the doubles ranking. Elena Dementieva, the last week's winner in Bali, rose to a career high ranking of No.8.

According to the Shanghai Online website, the Main Draw Ceremony for the 2003 Polo Open was held on Sunday afternoon at the Xianxia Tennis Centre in Shanghai. Miss Dokic was seeded 5th in Ai Sugiyama's 2nd quarter of the draw. She will meet Janette Husarova of Slovakia in the 1st round. Top 4 seeds - Elena Dementieva, Chanda Rubin, Ai Sugiyama and Conchita Martinez - in a 28 player-field will receive byes into the 2nd round. The 2003 Polo Open is starting on Monday as a Tier2 event, after replacing the Toyota Princess Cup, which had been held in Tokyo from 1997 to 2002.

According to the Shanghai Online website, Miss Dokic arrived in Shanghai on Saturday. The article also reported that Jennifer Capriati officially withdrew from the Polo Open due to a shoulder injury while Elena Dementieva, who recently came back in the top 10, would take part in the Tier2 event as the top seed. Elena Dementieva has advanced to Sunday's final in Bali and set up a meeting with top seed Chanda Rubin.

Thursday, 11 September, 2003 - Polo Open Shanghai
Miss Dokic has been committed to play in the 2003 Polo Open Shanghai next week. The hard-court tournament, which was upgraded from Tier4 to Tier2 this year, will be held from Monday, 15th to 21st September at the Xianxia Tennis Centre in the western suburbs of Shanghai, China. This will be her 25th tournament of the season.

Wednesday, 10 September, 2003 - Wismilak International
Her debut appearance in Bali was shortly over beyond expectation. The 4th seeded pair of Miss Dokic and Ashley Harkleroad lost their 1st-round match at the 2003 Wismilak International to Asian team of Tamarine Tanasugarn and Wynne Prakusya in straight sets, 1-6, 3-6 late Wednesday.

Miss Dokic lost her 1st-round match at the 2003 Wismilak International on Tuesday afternoon. She was defeated by Tathiana Garbin in straight sets, 5-7, 3-6 at the 2nd match on Centre Court in the Bali Tennis Centre.

Monday, 08 September, 2003 - U.S. Open, WTA Rankings
No.2 seed Justine Henin-Hardenne defeated the world No.1 Kim Clijsters, 7-5, 6-1 in an all-Belgian women's singles final at the Arthur Ashe stadium on Saturday night to claim her 2nd Grand Slam title. This was a rematch of their 2003 Roland Garros final.

The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables after the U.S. Open. Miss Dokic moved up to No.21 in the singles but fell 2 spots to No.18 in the doubles ranking. Justine Henin-Hardenne's victory over compatriot Kim Clijsters on Saturday has boosted her one place to No.2, moving past former world No.1 Serena Williams. But Kim Clijsters remains on top of the WTA world rankings.

The 2003 Wismilak International official website announced the doubles main draw today. Miss Dokic seems to pair up with Ashley Harkleroad for the first time. They were seeded 4th in the bottom half of the draw and will meet Tamarine Tanasugarn and Wynne Prakusya in the opening round. Ashley Harkleroad has reached the semi-finals of the doubles three times in her WTA career. Her current doubles ranking is No.98 (as of 8th September).

The 2003 Wismilak International official website announced the singles main draw today. Miss Dokic was seeded 4th in the 2nd quarter of the draw. She will meet Tathiana Garbin from Italy in the opening round. Top 2 seeds - Chanda Rubin and Elena Dementieva - in a 30 player-field will receive byes into the 2nd round. The 2002 champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, who remains in the women's doubles draw at the U.S. Open with partner Martina Navratilova, seems not to participate in this year's event.

According to the tournament's official website, Miss Dokic seems to take part in the tier3 Wismilak International next week before flying to Shanghai for the tier2 Polo Open. The 10th anniversary hard-court event will be held from 8th to 14th September at the Bali Tennis Centre in the Grand Hyatt Resort in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. Chanda Rubin, Conchita Martinez, Elena Dementieva and Marry Pierce are among the top players to have confirmed their participation in the US$ 225,000 event.
