Thursday, 29 April, 2004 - German Open
Miss Dokic is scheduled to begin her European Tour at the 2004 Ladies German Open next week. This Tier1 red clay-court tournament will be held from 3rd to 9th May at the LTTC "Rot-Weiss" Club in Berlin, Germany. The singles main draw will be announced on Sunday. - I hope her injury heals over in time. Roland Garros starts in 4 weeks.

The 2004 Fed Cup World Group 1st Round were held last weekend. Final results of the 8 ties are as follows. The 8 1st-round losers will compete in the Play-off ties with 8 zonal group-1 qualifiers. The World Group Quarter-finals and Play-offs will be held from 10th to 11th July.

Sunday, 25 April, 2004 - Fed Cup
The ITF's Fed Cup official website announced Saturday's results of the Europe / Africa Zone Group-1 Play-offs at the Royal Athens Lawn Tennis Club in Athens, Greece. Miss Dokic reportedly withdrew 5 minutes before her singles action against the 14-year-old Bulgarian No.1 Sesil Karatancheva due to a groin injury. Bulgaria, Ukraine, Belarus and Estonia finally advanced to the World Group Play-offs. Serbia & Montenegro will remain in the Zone Group-1 for 2005 event. - I am not sure how she is seriously injured. Anyhow we hope she will get better soon!!

The ITF's Fed Cup official website announced Friday's results of the Europe / Africa Zone Group-1 round-robin ties at the Royal Athens Lawn Tennis Club in Athens, Greece.

  Group D: Estonia (4) vs. Greece (6): 3-0.
The Round Robin ties have been completed. The 1st teams in Group A and B will meet the 2nd teams in Group C and D in Saturday's Play-offs. Serbia & Montenegro's team is due to face Bulgarian squad of Sesil Karatancheva (198), Tzvetana Pironkova (287), Maria Penkova (497) and Fani Chifchieva (-). Miss Dokic defeated Sweden's No.1 player Sofia Arvidsson in three sets, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 in the 2nd match of Thursday's tie between Serbia & Montenegro and Sweden. Serbia & Montenegro advanced to Saturday's Play-offs.

Miss Dokic played in a team competition on Tuesday for the first time since 2000. She defeated 244th-ranked teenager Lina Stanciute in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4 in the 2nd match of Tuesday's tie between Serbia & Montenegro and Lithuania.

The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables. Miss Dokic moved down to No.19 in the singles rankings, but remains at No.53 spot in the doubles rankings. Charleston semi-finalist Jelena Kostanic improved her ranking from No.62 to career-best No.43 in the past 2 weeks.

The Babolat official website has erased her name from the "Women Strings Team" page.
The finals of the 2004 Family Circle Cup were played on Sunday. Former World No.1 and 4th seed Venus Williams claimed the first title since February, 2003 with a 2-6 6-2 6-1 win over 16th-seeded veteran Conchita Martinez, who recorded 700 career victories earlier last week. In the doubles final, the top-seeded pair of Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suarez defeated the 2nd seeds, Martina Navratilova and Lisa Raymond, 6-4, 6-1.

Sunday, 18 April, 2004 - Fed Cup, Estoril Open
Miss Dokic will take part in the 2004 Fed Cup Europe / Africa Zone Group-1 event. The round robin pools have been announced as follows. (Seeded positions in brackets.) The round robin ties are scheduled to be played from Monday to Friday at the Royal Athens Lawn Tennis Club in Athens.

Emilie Loit of France won her 2nd consecutive singles title in the past 2 weeks. As the 3rd seed, she continued her outstanding form by winning the 2004 Estoril Open with a 7-5, 7-6 (1) victory over 6th seed Iveta Benesova in Sunday's final. She has claimed her first career title in Casablanca last week.

Thursday, 15 April, 2004 - Family Circle Cup
Miss Dokic lost another seesaw match in the 2nd round of the 2004 Family Circle Cup. She was upset by Petra Mandula in three sets, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 2-6 Wednesday afternoon. After dropping the tough opening set in a tie-break, she took the 2nd set relatively with ease to even the match. But the 26-year-old opponent fought back to lead 5-2 in the final set and finally held serve to set up a meeting with 7th seed Jennifer Capriati in the 3rd round.

Miss Dokic advanced to the 2nd round in Charleston with a tough 6-0 5-7 7-5 win over Russian qualifier Tatiana Panova at Tuesday's opening match on Stadium Court. Rain has delayed the start of play at Family Circle Tennis Center on Tuesday.

The 4th seeded Lindsay Davenport captured her 2nd title of the year and 40th career Tour title on Sunday, defeating 3rd seed Amelie Mauresmo, 6-4, 6-4 in the final of the Bausch & Lomb Championships at Amelia Island. The top seeded Emilie Loit won her first career Tour title, defeating 4th seed Ludmila Cervanova, 6-2, 6-2 in Sunday's final at the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Casablanca.

Sunday, 11 April, 2004 - Family Circle Cup
The singles main draw for the 2004 Family Circle Cup has been announced. Miss Dokic was seeded No.12 in the top half of the draw. She was drawn to meet a qualifier in the 1st round and will possibly face the 7th-seeded Jennifer Capriati in the 3rd round. Top 8 of 16 seeds in a 56 player-field will receive byes into the 2nd round. The qualifying final round will be played on Sunday and the main draw starts on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. (local time).

Friday, 09 April, 2004 - Family Circle Cup
Before flying to Europe, Miss Dokic will play in another big tournament in the United States next week. The 2004 Family Circle Cup will begin from Monday, 12th April at the Family Circle Tennis Center at Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina. The singles and doubles finals will be played on Sunday, 18th April. The main draw party will be held at 3:00 p.m. (local time) on Saturday. She has reached the quarter-finals of this tier1 clay-court event in 2000 and 2003.

Wednesday, 07 April, 2004 - Bausch & Lomb Championships
The 11th-seeded Miss Dokic suffered an upset loss to American veteran player Amy Frazier, 4-6, 5-7 Tuesday afternoon at the last match in the opening round of the 2004 Bausch & Lomb Championships in Amelia Island.

Tuesday, 06 April, 2004 - Bausch & Lomb Championships, Fed Cup, Athens Olympics
Miss Dokic will play her 1st-round match with Amy Frazier at the 2004 Bausch & Lomb Championships on Tuesday afternoon. They are scheduled to meet at the 4th match on Stadium Court. Play starts at 10:00 a.m. (local time) on all courts.
The ITF officially announced the team nominations for the 2004 Fed Cup Europe/Africa Group-1 ties, which will be played from 19th to 25th April at the Athens Lawn Tennis Club, Greece. Miss Dokic is in the Serbia & Montenegro team along with Jelena Jankovic, Ana Timotic, Dragana Zaric and captain, Bijana Veselinovic.
The ITF also announced yesterday that the Entries By Country have closed on 1st April and a total of 77 countries have officially entered to compete in the Tennis Event at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. According to the ITF's "This Week", these countries are not guaranteed places in the Tennis Event in August, but they have the right to either earn direct entry places, which will be allocated based on the rankings of 14 June, or apply for ITF Places (wild cards), which will be selected by the ITF on 28th June, 2004.

Monday, 05 April, 2004 - Bausch & Lomb Championships, WTA Rankings
The doubles main draw for the 2004 Bausch & Lomb Championships was announced on Sunday. Miss Dokic seems to have decided not to play in the doubles event this week. Tina Pisnik returns to the doubles action with partner Karolina Sprem.
The WTA Tour official website released new ranking tables. Miss Dokic moved down to No.18 in the singles rankings and slipped 10 places to No.54 in the doubles rankings. Nadia Petrova reached into the top 10 for the first time, Maria Sharapova improved her ranking into the top 20, Tina Pisnik came back in the top 30 and Aniko Kapros moved up into the top 50.

The singles main draw for the 2004 Bausch & Lomb Championships was announced on Saturday. Miss Dokic was seeded No.11 in the bottom half of the draw. She will play her opening round match against veteran Amy Frazier of the United States. She was drawn to meet the 7th-seeded Nadia Petrova or the 47-year-old former world No.1 Martina Navratilova , who returns to singles action as a wildcard, in the 3rd round. Top 8 of 16 seeds in a 56 player-field will receive byes into the 2nd round. Main draw starts on Monday morning.

Top seed Serena Williams won her 3rd straight title of the NASDAQ-100 Open in her first tournament back from eight-month injury lay-off as she needed just 50 minutes to defeat 5th seed Elena Dementieva, 6-1, 6-1 in the women's final on Saturday afternoon.
