Saturday, 30 April, 2005 - Grand Prix SAR L.P Lalla Meriem
The WTA Tour official website announced the singles qualifying draw for the 2005 Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem. Miss Dokic will play in the qualifying 1st round on Saturday afternoon against wildcard entrant Carolina Malheiros from Brazil. They are scheduled to meet at the 2nd match on Court No.3. Play is due to start at 12:00 noon (local time) on all courts on Saturday. This tier-4 tournament, which had been held in Casablanca until last year as a tier-5 event in the WTA Tour, will get underway on clay courts at the Club Riad in Rabat, Morocco from Monday, 2nd May with the main draw singles action.

Miss Dokic lost her opening round match at the 2005 Estoril Open, falling to Alyona Bondarenko in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 2-6 at Monday's opening match on Center Court.

Despite the loss, she really showed her fighting spirit. We must consider that it was her first Tour appearance after a long layoff since earlier March. She said in her post-match interview: "I wouldn't say I would like to go down to Challenger events but matches wise and confidence wise it could be a good thing... My tennis isn't there so I have to build it up from the beginning like I did when I was 14," CNN.com reported on Monday.

Sunday, 24 April, 2005 - Estoril Open
Good News!! Miss Dokic will participate in the Estoril Open this week. The ATP/WTA clay-court tournament will take place from the 25th April to 1st May at the Estadio Nacional in the western suburbs of Lisbon, Portugal. The tournament official website has announced the qualifying and main draw for the Tier-4 women's singles event. Miss Dokic is in the 2nd quarter of the main draw. She will meet Alyona Bondarenko of Ukraine in the opening round. The top seed is Flavia Pennetta of Italy and No.2 seed is Dinara Safina of Russia. Last year's champion Emilie Loit can not defend her title due to a left wrist injury.

Monday, 18 April, 2005 - Family Circle Cup, WTA Rankings
In Charleston, former World No.1 Justine Henin-Hardenne made an impressive comeback from viral illness and knee injury. She defeated No.2 seed Elena Dementieva in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday to claim the tier-1 Family Circle Cup title. It was her first title since winning the Gold Medal last August in Athens Olympics.

Monday, 11 April, 2005 - Fed Cup, Bausch & Lomb Championships, WTA Rankings
Miss Dokic will not take part in next week's Fed Cup zonal competition. The team nominations for the Europe/Africa Qualifying Group-1 have already been announced. Serbia-Montenegro's captain Tatjana Jecmenica has named her new team members, Jelena Jankovic (#20), Ana Timotic (#325), Ana Jovanovic (#531) and Dragana Zaric (#463).
World No.1 Lindsay Davenport defended her title on Sunday with a 7-5 7-5 win over the 12th-seeded clay-courter Silvia Farina Elia in the final of the Bausch & Lomb Championships in Amelia Island. It was her 2nd title of the season and 47th career singles title.

Former World No.1 Kim Clijsters claimed her 2nd consecutive title in the past 4 weeks with a 6-3 7-5 win over No.2 seed Maria Sharapova in Saturday's final of the NASDAQ-100 Open in Miami. She returned to the Top 20, leaping 21 spots from No.38 to No.17 on Monday.
