Monday, 19 December, 2005 - Melbourne, WTA Rankings
Photo quoted from the Tennis Australia Miss Dokic successfully won a berth in the main draw of the 2006 Australian Open when she defeated Monique Adamczak, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in Monday's final of the Wildcard Play-Off tournament at Melbourne Park. "It will still take some time. Definitely having these four matches here has helped. The Australian Open is a very important tournament for me but I'm looking more towards the first six months of next year... Getting in the top 100 is my first goal so I can get into tournaments. Having some wildcards at the beginning will help, but if I can play well and improve well with each match I think I can get in the top 50," she said in her post-match interview, the Tennis Australia official website reported today.
