1. Introduction

AIGOView playbacks and records Go (Igo, Baduk, Wei Qi, Wei Chi) games. Main features are:

• Open files in SGF format.
• Playback a game record by cliking a link to SGF file in the browser. AIGOView can also import from memory card.
• Record game and export to memory cards.
• There are three board sizes. (19x19, 13x13, 9x9)
• Zoom in board support.
• English and Japanese language support.

To get AIGOView, please visit paid-apps in Android Market. AIGOView requires Android 1.5 or higher.

3. How to operate

3-1. Layout

3-2. Select starting mode

At the beginning, you will find the starting mode selection screen. (However, when you start AIGOView at the first time, "Continue" won't be shown because the last saved data does not exist.) New Game: Start a new game. Continue: Load the last saved data. Import Game: Import a game record written in SGF format. Preferences: Show preferences. Exit: Exit from AIGOView.

3-3. Launch from browser

Click a link to SGF file in the browser, and you will find "Complete action using" dialog. AIGOView will be launced and start loading the SGF file after you select "AIGOView".

3-4. Input a new game record

After you select "New Game" at the starting mode selection screen or select Menu -> New Game, the initial setting dialog appears. Board: Select the board size. Handicap: Select even/handicap game, and the number of stones for a handicap game. Click "Start" button and you can input moves.

3-5. Select a turn mode

The turn mode selection dialog will be shown if you select Select Menu -> Turn Mode. Alternate: Play in alternate shifts. Free: Play black and white freely. None: Do not play. Show the comment area widely.

3-6. Input a move

Select "Alternate" or "Free" in the Turn Mode in order to show a stone container. [Put a stone] Pick a stone by touching on the stone container, slide it to the position you want to put at and release it. [Pass] Drop a stone on the "Pass" area to pass. [Zoom] If it is difficult to put a stone at your target position, double-click on the board and it will be zoomed in. Touch on the board awhile until the device vibrates then you can slide the board. Double-click again to return.

3-7. Write a comment

The Comment Editor will appear by double-clicking at the comment area. Write a comment and click "Set" button.

3-8. Playback a game record

There are two ways of clicking a button, one is short click (Tap) and the other is long (Long Click). Button Tap Move backward until a branch Move backward Move forward Move forward until a branch Switch alternates Long Click Move at the beginning Delete the move and after Start auto playback Move at the end --- You can also move forward by moving the finger left-to-right or top-to bottom over the board. On the other hand, you can move backward by moving the finger right-to-left or bottom-to-top.

3-9. Import a game record

After you select "Import Game" at the starting mode selection screen or select Menu -> Import, the Import dialog will be shown and the game records in the memory card will be listed up. Select a record and click "Import" button. AIGOView imports game records from "/AIGOView". The game information will be shown after importing a game record. Tapping on "Detail" button shows the information of selected game.

(Note: No game record is bundled in AIGOView.)

3-10. Show move record

Select Menu -> Record and you will see the Record dialog. It contains the following information. Black / White Position Comment Black / White stone with small stone at the top-right ( / ) means it is a branch move (has alternate moves). Tap on the "Jump" button to see the selected move.

3-11. Check game information

Tapping on "Detail" button in the Import dialog or selecting Menu -> Game Information will show the Game Information dialog. The Game Information will be shown also after importing a game record. Name: The title of the game. Event: The name of the event. Date: The date when the game was played. Black: The name of the black player. White: The name of the white player. Komi: The point for Komi. H'cap The number of handicap stones. Size The size of the board. Result: The result of the game. You can delete a game record file by tapping "Delete" button. Please note that "Delete" button is shown only in case the dialog has been opened by "Detail" button in the Import dialog.

3-12. Export record

The export record dialog will be shown if you select Menu -> Export record. Name: The title of the game. Event: The name of the event. Date: The date when the game was played in "YYYY-MM-DD" format. Black: The name of the black player. White: The name of the white player. Komi: The point for Komi. H'cap The number of handicap stones. Result: The result of the game. Filename is generated by the following rule: Set the directory to "/AIGOView". Filename is "SGFnnnn_xxxx.sgf", in which nnnn is four digits sequential number and xxxx is name or event. Eliminate all single-byte special characters except the following:     $  %  -  _  @   ~  !  (  )  #  &   +  ,  ;  =  [  ] Tap on the "Export" button to export record to memory card in SGF format.

3-13. Preferences

After you select "Preferences" at the starting mode selection dialog or select Menu -> Preferences in the board screen, the Preferences screen will be shown. Sound effect: If it is checked, sound is played on picking up a stone and on putting it down in volume level set by device settings. Show alternates: If it is checked, alternate moves at a branch will be displayed transparently. Orientation: Select screen orientation. You can choose among "Auto" (Switch screen orientation automatically depending on the device), "Portrait" and "Landscape". Button layout: Select button layout for right-handed user or left-handed user. Auto playback speed: Select speed of auto playback in five levels. Comment font size: Select comment font size in three levels. Index format: Select index format for position on board. (Five index formats) Sequential counter:Set sequential counter for game record. (max. four digits)

3-14. Check about AIGOView

Select Menu -> About AIGOView, and you can check information about AIGOView.
